KUWAIT: A 19 yearÜold Kuwaiti girl told undercover policemen that two Cameroonian nationals deceived her into believing that she could become wealthy by purchasing a ''magical oil'', which when rubbed onto blackÜcolored paper could turn it into money. After the Cameroonians left, she discovered to her disbelief that the oil did not work and that she had been cheated by the two out of 600 Kuwaiti dinars. Police investigated the matter and arrested the two fraudsters in Mansouriya. They were referred to the concerned authorities.
Five arrested on drug charges

KUWAIT: Jahra Police officers arrested a 27ÜyearÜold Kuwaiti man and charged him for possession of narcotics. The man, who was under surveillance for some time, was caught with 25 tablets of LSD. He was taken into police custody. Meanwhile, Jahra police arrested another Kuwaiti man on similar charges. The 32ÜyearÜold man had in his possession one sachet of hashish. In the southern part of the country a police patrol arrested a Kuwaiti man for having in his possession a large amount of hashish along with three sachets of another illegal substance and 200 tablets of LSD. The man was spotted near the Mina Abdullah factories and the police patrol approached him to check his identity. The man immediately drove off and after a long chase was arrested. Similarly, in Ahmadi a citizen and a Bedouin were arrested and charged with possession of narcotics. The two were in a total state of intoxication when arrested. Police also found 23 LSD tablets in their possession.
Girl breaks into friend''s house

KUWAIT: A woman who broke off her relationship with her boyfriend decided to patch things up her own way, breaking into his house in the AlÜQurain area. The man instead began shouting at her and kicked her out of the house. The girl proceeded to scream and swear, prompting her exÜlover to call the police. She was taken into police custody.
Hashish seized from Bedouins

KUWAIT: Detectives from the AntiÜNarcotics Department arrested two Bedouins for being in possession of 3.5 kilograms of hashish. Police also confiscated 650 Kuwaiti dinars from their possession. Acting on information which had been received earlier by the department, a team was formed to investigate and arrest the traffickers. Undercover police officers contacted one of the drug traffickers and struck a deal to buy three packets of hashish for KD 150. Police set up a sting operation and arrested the drug dealer, who then led the detectives to his accomplice living in the Sulaibiya area. Police raided the house of the accomplice, arrested him and confiscated the drugs. Both have been referred to the concerned authorities for interrogations.
Maid attempts suicide

KUWAIT: The operations room received a call informing them that an Asian domestic maid tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself while at her sponsor''s house in the Salmiya area. Police officers and medical teams rushed to the scene where paramedics administered emergency medical aid and rushed her to Mubarak Hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit. However, on interrogating her, she alleged that she did not attempt suicide but that she had been stabbed. Investigations are underway to ascertain the authenticity of the statement. Meanwhile, in another incident, a 15ÜyearÜold citizen was admitted to Mubarak Hospital after he slipped and fell at the AlÜYarmouk Sports Club and injured his spine.
NCO officers sustain injuries

KUWAIT: Two Kuwaiti military NCO officers sustained injuries when their fourÜwheel drive SUV flipped over on a road. Police, on receiving reports that a car in the area had flipped over, rushed to the site of the accident. The two were taken by paramedics to a local hospital and the police are investigating the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, an Asian man died instantly after a taxi hit him on the First Ring Road. The victim was taken to the forensics department and the taxi driver was taken into police custody to investigate the accident. In another incident, an Asian man died when he fell off an underÜconstruction building. The builder slipped as he was working, lost his balance, and landed on the ground. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, he died just before paramedics arrived with the laborer at Jahra hospital.
Minor runs away from home

KUWAIT: A 15ÜyearÜold Jordanian girl ran away from her family in order to find a job, but was arrested in Jleeb AlÜShuyoukh after her father filed an absence report two weeks ago at the police station. The Head of Farwaniya Undercover Police Department Colonel Mansour AlÜHajiry had formed a team to look for the Jordanian teenager. Investigations led undercover officers to find her in Jleeb. After she was arrested, she said she escaped because she wanted to find employment and abandon her studies.
